Independent Solar Consultants

We don’t sell solar.
We help you choose it.

NJ Clean Energy Group is an energy consulting group with more than 15 years in renewable energy. We are not tied to any one solar company, product line, or installation crew — so we can look at your property, your usage, and your budget, then point you to the provider that actually fits.

No sales script · No door knocking · No obligation, ever

Our approach

We serve the client first.
That changes everything.

When you meet with a representative from a single solar company, their job is to move you through that company’s process, that company’s equipment, and that company’s installation network. We are built the other way around.

One solar company’s rep

One product. One process. One answer.

  • Sells the equipment their company carries, whether or not it suits your roof
  • Works from a sales process designed to close, not to compare
  • Uses whichever install crew is on their roster that week
  • Has one financing structure to show you, because it is the one they offer
  • Cannot tell you when the honest answer is “not yet”
NJ Clean Energy Group

Your independent guide through the whole decision.

  • Not tied to any one solar company, product line, sales process, or install team
  • We start with your goals, property, energy usage, budget, and long-term needs
  • Every partner is carefully vetted and maintains 5-star ratings
  • We compare financing paths side by side so you see the real math on each
  • We help you avoid pressure-driven decisions and companies that cut corners
What we do

Two very different buildings.
Two very different solar plans.

We guide solar panel installation, maintenance, and service for residential, commercial, and industrial properties — helping you evaluate quality equipment, wiring, and grid-connection solutions built around long-term renewable energy goals.

  • Matched to vetted, 5-star installation partners — not whoever is available
  • Cash, credit, loan, lease, and PPA paths compared side by side

Why now

Fifty years of progress,
and the timing finally lines up.

Solar technology has advanced rapidly over the last five decades. Pair that with lower energy costs, available New Jersey state incentives, and streamlined installation support, and switching to solar has never been more accessible for homeowners, businesses, and warehouse operators.

50 years

The technology stopped being the risky part.

Panels, inverters, wiring, and grid-connection hardware have been refined over decades of real-world deployment. The hard question is no longer whether the equipment works — it is which equipment, which installer, and which financing structure fit your property. That is the question we exist to answer.

New Jersey incentives are available

The federal residential credit ended on 31 December 2025, but New Jersey’s own programmes did not. SREC-II pays you for the power your system generates, net metering credits what you send back to the grid, and the equipment is exempt from state sales tax and from any increase in your property assessment. Eligibility and terms differ for homeowners versus businesses, so we confirm what applies to you in writing.

Energy independence

Property owners across the region are turning to renewable energy for cost savings, energy independence, and environmental benefits — not as a statement, but as arithmetic.

Streamlined installation support

The paperwork, permits, and utility interconnection are where most projects stall. Our partners handle them, and we stay involved to make sure the handoffs actually happen.

Equipment worth evaluating

We help you compare panels, inverters, wiring, and grid-connection solutions on the terms that matter for a twenty-five year asset: warranty, service, and who answers the phone in year twelve.

Long-term renewable goals

Whether you are targeting a payback period, a sustainability commitment, or simply a smaller bill, the system should be designed backward from that goal.

60-second estimate

What is your utility bill
actually going to cost you?

Drag the slider to your average monthly electric bill. This shows what that bill adds up to over 25 years at a typical rate-increase pace — the money that leaves your account whether you go solar or not.

Estimate only. Figures model 25 years of utility spend at a 3% annual rate increase and a typical production offset, and they do not include system cost, financing, or incentives. Your actual numbers depend on your roof, usage, utility, and the program terms in effect when you sign. We will help you get the real ones in writing.

How people pay for it

Five ways to finance solar.
Only one of them is right for you.

Customers can explore several solar financing options, each with potential incentives attached. A consultation determines the most efficient and cost-effective route based on your energy usage, property type, and long-term savings goals — not on which product someone happens to be selling.

Cash purchase

You own the system outright from day one. Highest lifetime return, no financing cost, and the incentive picture is usually the most straightforward.

More detail

How the numbers work on a cash purchase, what the payback period looks like, and when it beats financing.

Credit

Using an existing credit facility to fund the system. Worth modeling against a dedicated solar loan before you commit either way.

More detail

When using existing credit makes sense, and how to compare it honestly against a dedicated solar loan.

Solar loans

Purpose-built financing that keeps ownership with you while spreading the cost. The variable that matters most is the rate and term, not the headline monthly payment.

More detail

What to look at beyond the monthly payment: rate, term, fees, and what happens if you move.

Leases

A third party owns the equipment and you pay to use it. Lower upfront commitment, different incentive treatment, and terms worth reading closely.

More detail

Who owns what, how the incentives are treated, and the clauses worth reading twice before signing.

Power purchase agreements

You buy the power the system produces rather than the system itself. Common on commercial projects, and the escalator clause is the number to scrutinize.

More detail

How a PPA is priced, what an escalator clause does to the cost over time, and where PPAs fit best.

Compared side by side

The point of an independent consultation is that we can lay all five against your actual usage and goals, then tell you which one wins and why.

More detail

What we actually put in front of you: all five paths against your real usage, with the maths shown.

The New Jersey option

What going solar in New Jersey actually gets you

Four things worth knowing before you talk to anybody.

  • $0 out of pocket to start. Several of the five financing paths need no money up front.
  • A predictable monthly cost. Instead of a utility bill that moves every year.
  • Insulated from most rate rises, for 25 years. Power you generate is power you are not buying at whatever the rate becomes.
  • A new GAF roof, built into the same project. One job, one payment, through our GAF Master Elite partner. Subject to qualification.

The best decision is an informed decision. 450,000 New Jersey homes have solar. They all can’t be wrong.

Book a consultation

We are energy consultants, not tax or financial advisors. Incentive amounts, eligibility, and deadlines change, and how they apply depends on your specific situation. We recommend confirming incentive eligibility with your own CPA and current state program terms with the relevant state authority before you sign anything.

Commercial & Industrial

Commercial rooftop solar can add value to your business.

Rooftop is usually the most straightforward location for an on-site system, and it is one of the most popular commercial design options for a simple reason: it typically does not interfere with business operations. Rooftop solar monetizes the roof and can reduce operating expenses.

  • Sized on real inputs. Panels are mounted in a calculated manner based on available roof space and the power consumption history of the location.
  • Businesses of every size. Commercial and industrial organizations alike can capitalize on the benefits of adding solar to their building roofs.
  • Built for flat roofs. Our partners deliver customized solar solutions for flat commercial and industrial roof buildings.
  • A strategic decision, not a statement. Commercial rooftops are an exceptional location to power your business with clean renewable energy.

Our partners

Vetted before we ever
put them in front of you.

All of our partners are carefully vetted and maintain 5-star ratings. We work with branded, experienced, tenured, and insured installation teams backed by a million-dollar insurance policy. Solar is a long-term investment, so you deserve a team that values quality, accountability, and transparency.

Installation & manufacturing partners

Utility interconnection

Logos are shown to identify the installation partners we work with and the utility territories your project may interconnect within. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners, and their appearance here does not imply endorsement of NJ Clean Energy Group.

How it works

Five steps, and no pressure in any of them.

A consultation is a conversation, not a close. Here is what actually happens from the first call to the day the system switches on.

  1. Free consultation

A short call to understand your goals, property, energy usage, budget, and long-term needs before anyone talks about equipment.

    Step one
  2. Usage & property review

We look at consumption history and the property itself to determine what a properly sized system would need to do — and whether solar makes sense yet.

    Independent
  3. Partner matching

We identify the vetted, 5-star providers whose equipment, experience, and service model fit your project, and bring them to the table.

    Vetted only
  4. Compare, then decide

Proposals and financing structures laid side by side, in plain terms, with no deadline attached. You take as long as you need.

    No pressure
  5. Install & follow through

Your chosen partner handles installation, permits, and interconnection. We stay reachable through the process and afterward.

Where we work

Three regions, one standard.

New Jersey

Our home state and the core of our partner network — residential, commercial, and industrial properties statewide.

Pennsylvania

Full consulting coverage for homeowners and business operators evaluating solar across the state.

New England

Regional coverage for property owners who want independent guidance rather than a single company’s pitch.

Straight answers

The questions everybody actually asks

So you are not a solar installer?

Correct. NJ Clean Energy Group is an energy consulting group specializing in residential and commercial solar projects. We are not tied to any one solar company, product line, sales process, or installation team.

That independence is the whole point. It means we can tell you which provider fits your property — and when the honest answer is that none of them do right now.

What does it cost to work with you?

The initial consultation is free and carries no obligation. We will review your usage, your property, and your goals, and give you a straight read on whether solar makes sense for your situation.

If your project moves forward, we will explain exactly how our engagement works before anything is signed.

How do you vet the installation partners?

Every partner we refer maintains 5-star ratings and is branded, experienced, tenured, and insured, with installation teams backed by a million-dollar insurance policy.

Because solar is a long-term investment, we screen for quality, accountability, and transparency specifically. Part of our job is helping you avoid the companies that cut corners.

Why not just meet with a solar company directly?

You can, and plenty of people do. The thing to understand is that a single company’s representative is there to move you through that company’s process, equipment options, and installation network. That is their job.

We provide a different experience: an independent guide who helps you compare options and avoid pressure-driven decisions, so the solution is built around your needs rather than someone else’s sales model.

Which financing option is best?

It depends entirely on your energy usage, property type, tax situation, and long-term savings goals. Cash purchase, credit, loans, leases, and power purchase agreements each behave differently, and each has potential incentives attached.

A consultation is how we determine the most efficient and cost-effective route for you specifically. We are not tax advisors, so we always recommend confirming the final numbers with your own CPA.

Do you handle commercial and industrial projects?

Yes. We consult on residential, commercial, and industrial properties, including warehouse operations. Commercial rooftop is often the most straightforward option because it typically does not interfere with business operations.

Systems are sized in a calculated manner based on available roof space and the power consumption history of the location, and our partners deliver customized solutions for flat commercial and industrial roofs.

Where do you work?

We provide solar consulting, and coordinate installation, maintenance, and service, for properties throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New England.
